Privacy Policy

Overview

REDLIGHT (“the App”) is a photo editing application developed and operated by Red Collar (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

The short version: Your photos never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to use AI features. We don’t sell your data. We don’t track you across apps. We collect the minimum information needed to make the app work.

Information We Collect

Photos & Media

All photo editing — filters, textures, templates, and adjustments — happens entirely on your device using your phone’s GPU. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers for standard editing features.

AI Features: When you use AI Enhance, AI Transform, or AI Combine, the selected image(s) are sent to our processing server, which forwards them to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) for processing. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored by us or by the AI provider after processing is complete.

Account Information

If you sign in with Apple (SIWA), we receive your Apple-issued user identifier. We do not receive your name, email address, or any other personal information unless you explicitly choose to share it. Your Apple user identifier is used solely to:

  • Track your AI credit balance
  • Sync your presets and projects via iCloud
  • Verify your subscription status

AI Credit Tracking

We maintain a server-side record of your AI credit usage, tied to your anonymous Apple user identifier. This record contains only your identifier, credit count, and usage timestamps. No personal information is associated with this record.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your presets and project data are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit framework. This data is stored in your iCloud container and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Purchase Information

Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple’s App Store. We receive transaction verification data from Apple to confirm your subscription status but do not receive or store your payment details, credit card number, or billing address.

Analytics & Diagnostics

We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs. We do not track your behavior within the app. We do not collect crash reports unless you opt in through Apple’s built-in crash reporting.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide AI editing features when you request them
  • To track and manage your AI credit balance
  • To verify your subscription status
  • To sync your presets and projects across your devices
  • To improve the app (aggregated, anonymous usage patterns only)

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini API — for AI image processing. Images are sent for processing and are not retained. Subject to Google’s AI Terms of Service.
  • Apple CloudKit — for iCloud sync of presets and projects. Governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
  • Apple StoreKit — for subscription management. Governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, social media trackers, or data brokers.

Data Retention

  • Photos: Never stored on our servers. AI-processed images are transient and discarded after delivery.
  • Credit records: Retained as long as your account is active. Deleted upon request.
  • iCloud data: Managed by Apple. You can delete it through your iCloud settings.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request deletion of any data associated with your account
  • Request a copy of any data we hold about you
  • Opt out of AI features entirely (use the app without signing in)
  • Delete your iCloud data through Apple’s settings

Children’s Privacy

REDLIGHT is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or on this page. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
